Privacy policy

The German version is legally binding.

In short

This site sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from third-party servers – fonts and scripts are served from the same address as the site. The LayFirst app needs no account and keeps your projects on your device only.

Controller

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. in the USA. When you open a page, Netlify processes technically necessary data: IP address, time, requested address, referrer and browser identifier. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure; the legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Netlify acts as a processor and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. How long the logs are kept follows Netlify’s privacy policy (netlify.com/privacy).

Waiting list

If you join the waiting list, we store your email address and the time of your consent so that we can tell you once when LayFirst is available in the App Store. The form runs on Netlify Forms; your IP address and – to fight spam – the content of your entry are also passed to the spam filter Akismet (Automattic Inc.).

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by emailing pascal.allekotte@web.de. We delete your entry after the launch email or once you withdraw your consent.

The LayFirst app

LayFirst needs no account and collects no data. Projects, rooms, measurements, photos and settings stay on your device. There is no advertising, no tracking and no usage analytics.

PDFs, images and project files only leave the device when you send them yourself via the share menu – by email, message or AirDrop.

If the app offers the subfloor analysis and you use it, the photos you select – downscaled and without location data – are sent together with your note to Anthropic (Claude API) for evaluation, and only after you have agreed. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR); you can withdraw it in the app at any time.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to withdraw consent. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live.
