01Measure up
Rectangle, quadrilateral or free form, wall by wall. You measure curved walls by chord and rise, not by radius. The room appears straight away, with its area and plan.

If the first or last row is too narrow, the tongue breaks off. So LayFirst finds the starting point where both rows hold.

You order per covering, across all rooms: the opened pack moves on to the next room. Plus prep work and consumables – and for the piece around a column, the notch measurements to mark out.

This is how LayFirst finds the starting point: the first and last rows should be at least a third of the plank width – never less than 5 cm.

This page calculates the simple case: a rectangle with rows along the width. The app adds quadrilateral and free-form rooms, diagonal laying, herringbone, doors and columns.

Customer preview
The laying plan becomes a room you can turn: decor, wall colour, light. For a decor of your own, photograph the sample on the table.
Customers rarely decide whether they like a floor – they decide which of two they like better. So both stand side by side and turn together, from the same angle. The room only changes when you tap “Take this one”.
Tools
In the “Tools” tab you work things out without setting up a project – in the warehouse, on the phone, at the saw. Every result can be shared as text, with your supplier or in your team’s group chat.
